kookaklunka.com,
a small static site with no analytics, no cookies, and no third-party content.
1. The Klunk Website (kookaklunka.com)
- Hosting: The site is served as static files by GitHub Pages through GitHub's content delivery network. We (KookaKlunka Studios, LLC) do not run our own web server or logging infrastructure for it.
- Server logs: When you visit the site, GitHub logs your IP address and basic request metadata (page requested, timestamp, browser user-agent) and retains it for security purposes — to maintain the integrity and security of the service and protect it against abuse. This happens for every visitor, whether or not they have a GitHub account. We do not receive, access, or store these logs. See GitHub's GitHub Pages data collection notice and the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
-
No cookies or tracking: The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics,
tag managers, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting. Every page asset (stylesheet, icons,
images, manifest) is served from
kookaklunka.comitself — no third-party fonts, scripts, or CDNs are loaded — so simply viewing a page sends your data to no one other than GitHub, as described above. -
Downloads and outbound links: The download buttons and version links
point to this project's Releases page on
github.com. If you click them you are taken to GitHub, and GitHub's Privacy Statement governs that visit. A small script on the home page reads the operating system your browser reports, locally in your browser, only to label the download button; this check sends nothing over the network. -
Custom domain and HTTPS:
kookaklunka.comis a custom domain pointed at GitHub Pages; the HTTPS certificate is provisioned automatically through GitHub.
2. Data Processing and Storage (Application)
All primary data processing occurs on your local machine.
- Log Data: When you open log files (local or remote), the application parses them and may store them in a temporary local SQLite database to enable high-performance viewing and filtering. This data remains on your local machine and is never transmitted to the developers or any third party.
- Remote Connections: If you connect to external sources (SFTP servers, Kubernetes clusters, external databases, or URLs), the application transmits only the credentials and requests you provide. These connections are initiated solely by your actions and go directly to the target system — not through any developer-controlled infrastructure.
- Configuration: Your settings, Most Recently Used (MRU) items, saved patterns, and bookmarks are stored locally in the application's data directory on your device.
3. No Data Collection or Telemetry (Application)
- Klunk - Log Viewer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, usage data, or telemetry to the developers or any third parties.
- The application does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics SDKs, or any other tracking technology.
- No crash reports, diagnostics, or feature-usage metrics are sent anywhere.
4. Third-Party Services
The application allows you to connect to third-party services such as your own SFTP servers, Kubernetes clusters, or databases. Your use of those services is governed entirely by their respective privacy policies and terms of use. Klunk - Log Viewer has no visibility into or control over those systems.
5. Credential Security
Passwords and SSH key passphrases you enter for remote connections are encrypted before being stored in the local configuration. We recommend:
- Using standard OS-level security (disk encryption, screen lock) to protect your device.
- Using SSH key authentication rather than passwords where possible.
- Not sharing your application data directory with untrusted users.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the Last Updated date at the top of this document and in the application's release notes.
7. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, please open an issue in the project repository.
